Saw this on Christmas eve with some good friends. So fitting to curl up with the hearty friends. This is like going back to being a kid which I need every once in a while to remind myself how awesome it was. It's a movie filled with imagination and childlike innocence.
An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler. Written and directed by Spike Jones and the product of an almost decade long collaboration with author.
Random Thoughts: The Wild Things are not even cute, I think they're a bit scary but they're funny as hell and so sweet. Favorite Wild Thing is Alex. He needs some love. They all ignore him so... (=
So anyway, all in all this is a wholesome creative movie. It almost beat my movie of the year last year. It didn't but it's still pretty high on my list.
